At Paisano Tutoring, our Early Elementary Classes are unlike any conventional classroom; we take differentiated instruction to a new level. Every student is working through a trajectory of course material in the core subjects at a level and pace tailored specifically for that child. No child is held back by the pace of his peers, nor is any child forced to skip over material without mastery, just to “keep up.” We offer an environment and learning structure that supports both the gifted child as well as the struggling learner, and assists all of the students in reaching their academic potential without comparison to what others are doing.
In our Early Elementary BOYS Class, we’re teaching conceptual math and a classical approach to English Language Arts. We’re doing project-based science, literature-based history, polytonic modern Greek, and Lego-STEM. We are an internet-free, screen-free campus where students are writing in cursive, diagramming sentences, memorizing verses by heart, and looking up words in a printed dictionary and thesaurus rather than on Google. We’re growing flowers in outdoor containers to take home to put on the family dinner table, and we’re also designing Lego steering systems… and we’re having a lot of fun doing it!
At Paisano Tutoring, we believe that the home is the center of a child’s education, and the primary teachers are the parents. We seek to give parents confidence to be active participants in their child’s formal academic education and enable children to spend more time in the home environment, so that by this, the family is strengthened.
We provide all of the materials for the class, as well as customized homework packets and books from the Paisano Tutoring Lending Library for students to take home, so that students have the opportunity to continue their formal learning in the home environment with their family, and easily match or surpass the quantity of daily work that would be done in the conventional classroom.
In addition to providing all of the materials, the staff at Paisano Tutoring is correcting ALL of the work that our students do. Every single math problem answered incorrectly gets returned to the student to solve again. All of the students’ work from the Early Elementary classes is collected and returned to the parents monthly so that they have tangible evidence of their child’s academic growth and progress that they have helped to achieve.
