MATH:
At Paisano Tutoring, we use the Singapore Mathematics Curriculum and the Demme Learning Math-U-See Curriculum. We place students in math courses by ability, not grade level.
We offer students the opportunity to move forward at an accelerated pace by testing out of each level of the math program as they master the skills at each level. When students transfer to Paisano Tutoring and have gaps in previously acquired math knowledge, we work to fill those gaps while simultaneously working with the students at their assumed math level.
Middle School Math Courses at Paisano Tutoring meet for one hour twice a week (two hours a week total in class), and students are expected to work on math at home for an hour a day (five hours a week total at home).
Math class time at Paisano Tutoring is devoted to explaining new concepts, assisting students with problems that were done incorrectly in their homework, and administering chapter tests to enable students to test out each level.
