The following materials are provided and are included in the cost of the class.
Workbook/lab notebook: Earth Science and Astronomy for the Logic Stage Student Guide (edited/adapted, spiral bound)
Reference binders containing the assigned reading material for every unit in the course. (The reference binders are bound color copies of specific pages from Usborne Science Encyclopedia, Kingfisher Science Encyclopedia, Exploring the Night Sky, and National Geographic Stargazer’s Atlas) on loan to the student for the duration of each unit.
All lab materials (for the scheduled daytime lab/classes).
Telescope & astronomy binoculars for use at Paisano Tutoring’s (optional) “Night Sky Lab Sessions”

The following supplies are suggested, but not required.
These optional supplies can be purchased using the student’s Arizona ESA funds.
A telescope to be kept at the student’s home for “Night Sky Lab Assignments”
A pair of astronomy binoculars for “Night Sky Lab Assignments” at home.
Please note: There will be some “Night Sky Lab Assignments” that involve viewing a celestial body or phenomenon in the early evening or just before dawn. Anytime that there is such an assignment, Paisano Tutoring will have a telescope set up at a designated location, so that students have the option to use the Paisano Tutoring’s telescope, OR to use their own telescope at home. There are also opportunities to utilize, for no cost, the high-power telescopes at the Gilbert Observatory for evening viewings on specific days.

Field Trips
All field trips are optional.
The cost of field trips is not included in the cost of the class.
Students and families will pay their own admission.
The admission cost of educational field trips qualifies for reimbursement through the Arizona ESA program.

Kartchner Caverns - February
Grand Canyon, South Rim - April
Details of the field trips will be sent by email to the parents of the enrolled students.
